HOW TO CLEAN A SHADE SAIL.

WHAT YOU NEED:

Soft brush or broom
Mild soap (like dish soap)
Bucket
Hose with a spray nozzle
Soft cloth or sponge
Ladder (if needed)
Optional: Pressure washer (on a low setting)

FOLLOW THESE SEVEN STEPS

1. Get Ready:
Pick a sunny day so your shade sail can dry quickly.
If you can, take the shade sail down and lay it flat. If not, you can clean it while it’s still up.

2. Remove Loose Dirt:
Use a soft brush or broom to sweep off any loose dirt, leaves, and stuff from the shade sail.

3. Rinse with Water:
Use a hose with a spray nozzle to rinse the shade sail. This helps get rid of any leftover dirt and gets it ready for a deeper clean.

4. Make Soapy Water:
Mix some mild soap with water in a bucket. Don’t use strong chemicals or bleach because they can ruin the fabric and colour.

5. Scrub the Shade Sail:
Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the soapy water and gently scrub the shade sail. Pay extra attention to any dirty spots. If the shade sail is still up, you might need a ladder to reach the high parts.

6. Rinse Well:
After scrubbing, rinse the shade sail really well with the hose to get all the soap off. Leftover soap can attract dirt and make the fabric look bad.

7. Let It Dry:
Let the shade sail air dry completely before putting it back up or folding it away. Make sure it’s totally dry to stop mold and mildew from growing.

Optional: Using a Pressure Washer
If you use a pressure washer, set it to low pressure so you don’t damage the fabric. Hold the nozzle at a safe distance and use a wide spray.

Clean your shade sail regularly to stop dirt and grime from building up.
